Varun works as Principal Solutions Architect with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and has 25+ years of industry experience. In his current role, Varun focuses on architecting AWS, optimizing AWS environments, and helping customers & partners with cloud adoption and database migrations. Prior to his current role, Varun served as a Principal Consultant at Oracle, helping large enterprises with Database Strategy, migrations, and performance tuning. Varun has held Database leadership positions at FedEx-GENCO and Westinghouse Nuclear as well.

Varun is a regular speaker at public events, particularly around topics such as Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Purpose-built databases, and actively onboards new hires at Amazon. Varun has also authored public-facing blogs and whitepapers around Amazon RDS and Cloud Data Ingestion Strategies.
