TEAMING IN THE 21st CENTURY SELF-INFORMATION AGE The 21st century is the age of self-information. The global population now has access to virtually any information sought to expand their knowledge and skillsets. The organizational environment must embrace this reality beyond merely entering the social network arena or implementing a knowledge management system. Organizations have an opportunity to welcome and leverage the already honed skills of each individual and benefit from the dynamic creativity of teamwork by willingly becoming worker-centric. Confidence in the self-information of the worker is the new ROI.

This Speaker Series was initiated through the generous sharing of the network from Dr. Laurent Boucard, esteemed cybersecurity faculty member for Purdue University Global. Dr. Boucard continues to support the series with new speakers and by co-hosting each event with Dr. Tina Burton, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Information Technology. Dr. Martin J. McDermott is the President of Franchise Interviews, LLC. Marty discovered his passion for franchising in 1999 when he went to his first franchise show at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. In the same year, Marty McDermott also co-founded Franchise America, which was one of the first websites designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs buy a franchise. Marty McDermott is a Marketing Professor and Course Leader at Purdue University Global. He completed his Doctorate Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing in 2013. Over the last several years, Marty has been published in four scholarly journals on the topic of franchising. In 2014, Marty was inducted as an Honorary member to Golden Key. The induction of Honorary Members represents Golden Key's appreciation and recognition of their positive contribution to society, but also allows them to serve as inspirational role models for their members.

Purdue Global Center for Teaching and Learning has partnered with the Health Sciences faculty to create the Journey to Wellness podcast series. These podcasts were created by individual faculty with expertise in the health and wellness field. In the Breath and Balance series, Jan shares the importance of breathing, life balance, and yoga as it applies to all aspects of our lives. Meditation is My Medication with Kathy Bishop- Kathy Bishop, Health Sciences Faculty, and ordained Zen Buddhist Priest share information about meditation and why it is important for your well-being. Kathy also shares meditation techniques and a guided meditation series you may adopt as part of your daily wellness plan.

Previous intern and CISA for PGIP-Tech, Robin Kennedy leads the CarMax Cybersecurity Risk Management and Awareness Training with experiences as Senior Vice-President and Audit IT Director for Capital One as well as other IT leadership positions with Flour Daniel and Duke Energy. Her podcasts bring these experiences to our student-interns at PGIP-Tech.
